A Refreshing Approach to Real Estate Sales
After successfully putting my Marketing degree to work at a small company in Toronto, I left my position as National Sales Manager and followed my new-found desire to travel. After driving around North America with friends for three months, I wanted to go further abroad. My next trip brought me to Asia, and eventually led me to getting my Teaching Certificate and my Masters in Special Education. With this post graduate degree, I had the opportunity to teach at one of Tokyo’s finest International Schools, an experience I will never forget. Although my wife and I were having the time of our lives, working and traveling throughout Asia, once our first son was born, we chose to make our way back to Canada. This landed us in our vacation home in beautiful Collingwood, and it wasn’t long before we knew this is where we’d settle full time.
Becoming a Real Estate Broker was something I always thought I would do one day, but couldn’t have imagined I would enjoy it so much. In fact, I thought I would just do it “part time” for some extra money. I quickly learned that this was misguided thinking! It didn’t take long to realize that it requires a lot of time, hard work, and creative thinking to be successful in this industry. Now, 6 years later, I find myself amongst the top agents in my industry, pushing for better service than clients have ever experienced in the past. I’m motivated and supported by an incredible team of professionals that share the same core values and work ethic that I have in Real Estate; to provide service unmatched in integrity, knowledge, local expertise, and marketing that is tough to beat.
Years back I began using the phrase “Real Estate Done Differently,” and we stand by this as a Team, raising the bar every day, understanding it is always about the experience!
What I do is truly Real Estate Done Differently. Please see my Testimonials page for more details on this from some past clients. I use my marketing background to effectively and actively market and sell homes in the Georgian Triangle. Our market is very unique, due to the number of buyers from out of town, so marketing that will reach them is essential. Further, I don’t just reach potential buyers to simply get them here, but I target truly interested, qualified buyers. I use my education background to help inform buyers and sellers so that they can make confident, intelligent real estate decisions. I’m able to intuitively predict what is needed to sell a house and what questions buyers will ask. The variety of skills I am armed with allows me to serve my clients better than anyone else can.
Personally, although I put many hours into my career seven days a week, it is family first and foremost. My beautiful wife, Terri, has joyfully and bravely given birth to our three amazing boys, Ross, Findlay, and CJ. Ross was born in the early part of 2008, and Findlay arrived 20 months later. Now with CJ born in the fall of 2016, we certainly have our hands full at home, and we are loving every minute of it. You definitely realize what true, unconditional love is when being woken up at all hours of the night is no bother to you; instead, it’s simply a call to find what’s needed to console your child. Fortunately, Terri’s career allows her the flexibility needed to be home for the boys most of the time, not to mention how it compliments my work! I also enjoy the flexible schedule my real estate career affords me, as it allows me to bike, ski, and play hockey with my little ones between work-related responsibilities!
