” Scott and I did not initially plan to use a buyers’ rep assuming we would be better negotiating on price with agents who could double end the deal. After seeing some places and meeting Chris, we felt he and his team listened to and understood what we were looking for.
Being based in Toronto and sporadically in the Collingwood area, it made sense to have someone keep an eye on the market on our behalf.
We really appreciated Chris’ open communication style. He was forthcoming with his opinion on market and property values, while allowing us to make the decision on how we’d like to pursue opportunities. He and his team were very responsive and made the process of buying an “out of town” home very easy for us.
In hindsight, we should have asked for a list of market comparables before moving forward with an offer. However, given the short timeline and the price at which we were able to secure the deal, this was not a major issue.
From our viewpoint, market knowledge, responsiveness, and communication are the team’s biggest strengths. While I don’t generally rely on an agent’s website when determining who to use, I did have a quick look and found the site to be very impressive.
We have and continue to recommend Chris to our friends. I feel he understands and represents our demographic well.
We are used to buying and selling homes in a very different market (Toronto). It is difficult to determine if it was the market conditions, or agents who affected the experience but our purchase in Collingwood was refreshingly straight forward and simple (communication, negotiating tactic, logistics of sign-backs etc.). “
